Today's word of the day (or words) is Oort Cloud
As in, there could be a super giant planet hiding in the Oort cloud. Personally, I think that's where a few of the people I interact with on a daily basis come from.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Celebrate with a super rare Blue Moon!!
And I quote :
Blue Moon is the term applied to the second full Moon in a calendar month. It's an event that occurs roughly every two and a half years. This Thursday's blue Moon is far rarer than that though, because it's happening right on New Year's Eve—a coincidence that happens only about once in every twenty years.
2009 sucked for millions of people. It was one of the worst years I can remember personally. I hope better things are in store for everyone.
Here's a few resolutions I have for 2010
1) Eat more bacon
2) Post more good links
3) Eat bacon while I post

NASA To Trigger Massive Explosion On the Moon In Search of Ice
Slashdot Science Story | NASA To Trigger Massive Explosion On the Moon In Search of Ice
Somehow, this seems like, oh, a waste of time and energy. Also a great way to piss off the aliens living on the moon, and permanently scar our stellar neighbor.
Just my 2 cents.
I like the Mirror UK's headline "US to Bomb Moon".
